A pro pos vojnih kompozicija - računalo se je da za jednu Panzer diviziju treba otprilike 80 vlakova ,gdje bi se svaki vlak sastojao od 55 vagona .
Još jedna interesantna činjenica - citiram Len Deighton-a u knjizi Blitzkrieg :
Projektiranje tenka je uveliko ovisilo o gabaritima pruge - dok je Njemačka imala ograničenje od 292 cm po širini tenka , u isto vrijeme Englezima je ta maksimalna širina bila ograničena na 266 cm .
S obzirom da je širina diktirala i dužinu tenka ,(radi mehanićke kompliciranosti upravljanja) , Engleski tenkovi u pravilu su bili manji od njemačkih .

Negdje sam pročitao podatak da je za prijevoz jedne panzer divizije trebalo 160 vlakova. To je zasigurno ovisilo o propusnoj moći pruge i dopuštenoj duljini garniture.
Zanimljiv je slučaj 2. panzer divizije iz 1941. Nakon sudjelovanja u kampanji na Balkanu (Makedonija i Grčka) trebala je biti prebačena u Poljsku radi sudjelovanja u napadu na SSSR. Osoblje je prebačeno najkraćim putem kroz Vardarsko-Moravsku dolinu, dok su tenkovi i druga teška oružja i oprema upućeni na prijevoz brodovima u Italiju radi veće propusne moći tamošnjih pruga. Kod otoka Kefalonija britanska podmornica je potopila dva broda s tenkovima. Poučak: ziher je ziher, tenkove na vlak.
